Getting Started
An introduction to xBundle and a step-by-step setup guide for creating your first Shopify product bundle.
Introduction
Welcome to xBundle
Grow your Shopify store revenue with product bundles that your customers will love.
xBundle is a Shopify app that lets you create product bundles, offer smart discounts, and increase your average order value, all without any coding or technical knowledge.
What you can do with xBundle:
- Create bundles: Group products together and sell them as a package at a special price
- Offer smart discounts: Set Percentage, Fixed Amount, Buy X Get Y, and Free Shipping discounts, with optional conditions such as quantity or cart value
- Show recommendations: Display Frequently Bought Together suggestions on product pages, and recommend add-on products to shoppers during checkout
- Track performance: See exactly how your bundles are performing with built-in analytics
- Let AI build bundles: Connect your own AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT) and ask it to create bundles for you
Who is xBundle for?
xBundle is built for Shopify merchants of all sizes. Whether you sell 10 products or 10,000, bundles are one of the most effective ways to increase your average order value and move more inventory.
How xBundle works with your store:
xBundle adds widgets directly to your Shopify store’s product pages and checkout. Your customers see bundle offers, discount badges, and product recommendations without leaving your store. Each widget has design settings (colors, card size, text) that you can adjust in your Shopify theme editor so it fits your theme.
Setup Guide
Getting started with xBundle takes just a few minutes. Follow these steps to start selling bundles.
Step 1: Install xBundle
Install xBundle from the Shopify App Store. Once installed, open it from the Apps section of your Shopify admin. The Home page greets you with Welcome to xBundle, followed by your name.
Step 2: Complete the Setup Guide
When you first open xBundle, you’ll see a Setup Guide card on the Home page. It walks you through seven tasks:
- Add theme app extension: This activates the bundle widgets on your store’s product pages. Without this step, your bundles exist but shoppers never see them.
- Create fixed bundle: Your first bundle, a set group of products sold together at one discounted price.
- Create multipack bundle: Volume pricing for a single product, e.g. a 2-pack and a 3-pack with a better deal at each tier.
- Create mix and match bundle: Let shoppers choose their own combination from a group of products you define.
- Create frequently bought together bundle: Show a main product alongside complementary items on its product page.
- Set up checkout recommendations: Recommend add-on products during checkout, with their own discount.
- Check your bundle performance: Open Analytics to see which bundles actually sell.
Click a task to expand it. Each task shows a short description, a numbered step-by-step panel telling you exactly where to click (in your Shopify admin or in xBundle), and a button that takes you straight to the right page (for example Add fixed bundle or View analytics). Click the circle next to a task to Mark as done; the progress bar at the top shows how many tasks are completed. Once every task is marked done, a Dismiss guide button appears to hide the card. You can also hide it at any time by choosing Dismiss from the … menu.
Don’t skip the first step! Adding the theme app block is required for bundles to appear on your storefront.
Step 3: Enable the bundle widgets on your theme
Go to Settings
In xBundle, go to Settings.
Open the Widgets bundles tab
Open the Widgets bundles tab. You’ll see one card per widget, each with an On/Off badge:
- Bundle discount widget (Fixed & Mix & Match)
- Mix & Match bundle widget
- Multipack bundle widget
- Frequently bought together bundle widget
- Disable dummy bundle cart button (an app embed that hides “Add to Cart” for placeholder bundle products on Home, Collection, and Catalog pages)
Install each widget
Click Install on each widget you want to use.
Confirm placement and save
Your Shopify theme editor opens in a new tab with the block added to your product page. Confirm the placement and click Save. For Disable dummy bundle cart button, which is an app embed rather than a product-page block, the editor opens on the App embeds panel instead: switch it on and click Save.
Check the badge
Back in xBundle, the badge switches to On automatically once the change is detected. This can take a minute or two; if the badge still shows Off after you’ve saved, reload the page. Click Uninstall at any time to open the theme editor and remove a block.
If you create a bundle whose widget isn’t installed yet, a Widgets bundles block required banner appears on the bundle form with an Install button for each missing block.
Step 4: Create your first bundle
Go to Bundles
Go to Bundles from the sidebar.
Add bundle
Click Add bundle.
Choose a bundle type
Choose a bundle type in the Select bundle type window: Fixed, Multipack, Mix & Match, or Frequently Bought Together.
Configure and save
Enter a Title, select your products and variants, configure your discounts, and click Save.
New bundles are saved as Draft by default. Set the Status to Active (in the bundle form, or with Set as active on the Bundles page) and head to your storefront to see it in action.
Every plan includes a number of active bundles (5 on the Free plan). When you reach the limit, the Active option and the Add bundle button are disabled until you upgrade or set another bundle to draft.
Navigating the App
xBundle is organized into four main sections, all accessible from the sidebar navigation inside your Shopify admin.
Home
Your dashboard. Here you’ll find:
- The Setup Guide (until you dismiss it)
- Four metric cards showing your bundle performance at a glance: by default Orders, Bundle views, Total Revenue, and Conversion Rate
- A chart for the selected card, plus a date range picker (Last 7 days by default) and a bundle-type filter (All, Fixed, Multipack, Mix & Match, Frequently Bought Together, Product Recommend)
- The ability to change which metric each card shows: click the pencil icon on a card and pick from Select Metric (e.g. Added to Cart, Net Revenue, Avg Order Value, Discount Given)
Bundles
Your bundle management hub. This is where you:
- See all your bundles in a searchable, sortable list, with tabs for All, Fixed, Mix&Match, Multipack, and FBT and a Status filter
- Create new bundles of any type with Add bundle
- Select bundles to Edit, Set as active, Set as draft, Archive, Unarchive, or Delete them
Analytics
Detailed performance tracking. Dive deeper into:
- Total revenue, Orders, Net revenue, and Average order value
- An event chart you can switch between Bundle views, Bundle added to cart, Cart viewed, Checkout started, and Checkout completed
- A Revenue breakdown (gross sales, discounts, net sales) and Total sales by bundle type
- An All Events table, all filterable by date range and bundle type
Settings
Everything else lives here, organized into tabs:
- All: the widget, global recommendation, and checkout recommendation settings on one page
- Widgets bundles: install or uninstall the storefront widgets on your theme
- Recommend products at checkout: how many products to recommend at checkout, how often, which products to exclude, and the discounts offered on recommended products
- Plans & billing: your plan, usage, and upgrades and downgrades
- Connect AI: connect your own AI assistant so it can build bundles for you
Getting help inside the app
Click the chat button in the bottom-right corner of any page. It opens the Help & support panel with two tabs: How to use, with an Open full docs button to the complete documentation, and Questions, a short form (Your name, Email, How can we help?). Click Send message and we’ll reply by email.
