Common Issues & Answers
My Bundle Is Not Showing on My Store
If your bundle is set to Active but customers can’t see it, run through this checklist.
Check the app block is installed
This is the #1 reason bundles don’t appear. Go to Settings → Widgets bundles and make sure the right widget shows On:
- Fixed bundles → the Bundle discount widget (Fixed & Mix & Match)
- Mix & Match bundles → both the Bundle discount widget (Fixed & Mix & Match) (the discount cards) and the Mix & Match bundle widget (the product picker)
- Multipack bundles → the Multipack bundle widget
- FBT bundles → the Frequently bought together bundle widget
If a badge shows Off, click Install. The Shopify theme editor opens with the block ready to add to your product page; click Save in the theme editor. In the theme editor the blocks are named Discount Bundle, Bundle Product Card, Multipack and FBT Bundle. Back in xBundle, the badge switches to On by itself within a couple of minutes. Reload the page if it still shows Off.
When you open a bundle in xBundle, a Widgets bundles block required banner also appears if a block that bundle type needs is missing, and you can install it from there too.
Check the bundle status
Go to Bundles and check the Status column. Only Active bundles appear on your storefront. Draft and Archived bundles are saved but hidden, and their discounts don’t apply. Select the bundle and use Set as active to publish it.
Free plan: has your monthly bundle-sales limit been reached?
On the Free plan, once your store records 20 bundle sales in a billing period, xBundle automatically sets all of your Active bundles to Draft, and they can’t be set back to Active until you upgrade or the next billing period starts. You’ll see a Monthly bundle-sales limit reached banner on the Bundles page, and trying to activate a bundle shows the same message. When you upgrade, the bundles xBundle drafted are set back to Active automatically (bundles you archived in the meantime are left alone). Once a new billing period starts you can activate bundles again: select them and use Set as active (xBundle also restores them automatically the next time it records a sale for your store). Check Usage this period under Settings → Plans & billing.
Check the product itself
The widgets only appear on product pages:
- Fixed and Mix & Match bundles have their own bundle product. Visit that product’s page.
- Multipack and FBT widgets appear on the product page of the product you built the bundle on. That product must be active and available on your Online Store.
Also check:
- Fixed and Mix & Match discount cards only appear when the bundle has at least one discount, and a time-based discount card is only shown between its start and end dates.
- The Mix & Match product picker hides any component product that has no variant in stock (unless the variant is set to keep selling when out of stock), so a bundle whose components are all sold out shows no products.
- Every Multipack pack needs a discount, or the pack isn’t shown.
Check the theme editor placement
The block must sit on the product template of your live theme and must not be disabled (hidden) in the theme editor. If you recently switched or published a new theme, the blocks need to be added again on that theme: go to Settings → Widgets bundles and click Install for each widget you use.
Reload the page
Storefront changes can take a moment to appear. Reload the product page, or try it in an incognito/private window.
Still not working?
Click the chat button in the bottom-right corner of any xBundle page, open the Questions tab and send us:
- The bundle name and type
- The product page URL where you expect to see it
- A screenshot of Settings → Widgets bundles showing the widget badges
Discounts Are Not Applying
If your bundle discount isn’t being applied at checkout, here’s what to check.
Check 1: Discount is configured correctly
Go to Bundles, open the bundle, and review the Configure discounts card:
- Is a Discount name set? It’s required, and it’s the label shoppers see at checkout.
- Is a Discount type selected: Percentage, Fixed Amount, Buy X Get Y, or Free Shipping?
- Is the Discount value greater than 0? A Percentage (and the gift discount of a Buy X Get Y) can’t exceed 100%.
- For Buy X Get Y, is the Quantity of gift products at least 1, and have you selected gift products?
Validation errors appear on the discount form when you click Save. The Bundle Discounts Preview panel summarizes each saved discount and its rules, so you can double-check what will run.
Check 2: Discount rules are met
If you turned on Enable rule-based discount and added conditions, the shopper’s cart must satisfy them:
- Quantity: Is the customer buying enough items (and not more than the maximum, if you set one)?
- Cart Value: Is the cart total within the range you set?
- Inventory: Is the product’s stock level within the range you set?
Conditions are combined with the AND / OR operators you chose, and Negate this condition reverses a rule. If you turned on Enable time-based discount, the discount only applies from the Start date to the End date (both days included, based on your store’s time zone). Outside that window the discount is skipped at checkout, and for Fixed and Mix & Match bundles its discount card is hidden on the storefront.
Check 3: Bundle is Active
Only Active bundles have their discounts applied. Draft and Archived bundles never discount at checkout, even if a shopper still has the product in their cart.
Check 4: Products are in the cart correctly
For the discount to apply, the customer needs to add the products through the bundle widget, not individually from the regular add-to-cart button. The widget tags the cart lines so checkout knows they belong to a bundle. Make sure the app block is installed and working (see above).
Check 5: The xBundle automatic discount still exists
xBundle creates one automatic discount in your Shopify admin, named Discount by bundles - (NO DELETE) (Shopify admin → Discounts). Every bundle discount runs through it. If it has been deleted or deactivated, no bundle discount can apply. Please don’t remove it, and contact us through the chat button in the bottom-right corner if it’s missing.
Check 6: Other discounts
xBundle’s automatic discount is set to combine with product, order and shipping discounts. Whether a discount code stacks with it depends on that code’s own Combinations settings in your Shopify admin (Discounts → the code). At checkout, the bundle discount appears under the name you gave it, or Bundle discount, Free gift, Gift discount or Free shipping if the name was left empty.
Analytics Show No Data
If your analytics dashboard shows zeros or no data, here’s how to troubleshoot.
Are bundles active?
Draft and Archived bundles are hidden from your storefront, so shoppers can’t add them to the cart or buy them. There’s nothing to record until the bundle is Active.
Is the web pixel installed?
xBundle uses a Shopify web pixel to count bundle views, add-to-carts, cart views and checkouts. The pixel is created automatically when you install (or reinstall) the app, but you can verify:
- Go to your Shopify admin → Settings → Customer events
- Look for xBundle’s pixel (web-pixel-xBundle) in the list
- Make sure it’s connected
The pixel only records analytics events, so visitors who decline analytics cookies in your store’s privacy banner aren’t counted. Your numbers can be lower than your total traffic.
Revenue and orders come from orders, not the pixel
The Total revenue, Orders, Net revenue and Average order value cards, and the Revenue breakdown and Total sales by bundle type tables, are calculated from your Shopify orders. They fill in once a customer actually places an order that contains a bundle, so you may see Bundle views and Bundle added to cart events before any revenue appears.
Give it time
If you just created and activated your first bundle, data needs time to accumulate. Check back after a few hours or the next day once customers have started interacting with your bundles.
Check the date range
The date picker defaults to Last 7 days; you can also choose Today, Last 7 weeks, Last 7 months, Last 7 years, or pick a custom range in the calendar. Make sure the range covers the period when your bundles were active. If your bundles were only activated today, most of a 7-day range will be empty. Events are grouped by day.
Low traffic
If your store has very low traffic, it may take longer for meaningful data to appear. Focus on driving traffic to product pages with active bundles.
My AI Assistant Can’t Connect
If you’re trying to connect an AI client (such as Claude or ChatGPT) and it isn’t working, check these items.
Check the connection URL
Go to Settings → Connect AI and click Copy next to Your connection URL. It must be the exact URL shown there, and it’s unique to your store. In your AI client, open its Connectors / MCP servers settings, add a new connection and paste the URL.
Did you approve the connection?
Adding the URL isn’t enough on its own. Your browser opens your Shopify admin on the Connect AI to your store page, which asks “Allow this AI to connect to your store?”. Click Allow access. The request expires after a short time (the page shows a countdown); if it expired or you closed the window, start the connection again from your AI client.
Two things to check on that page:
- It shows the address your store’s data will be sent to. Make sure it’s your AI client’s address before you allow it; if the screen appeared unexpectedly, click Deny.
- You must be signed in to the same Shopify store the connection URL belongs to, in the same browser your AI client opened. Otherwise you’ll see a “different store” or “couldn’t be resumed” message. Sign in to the right store and start again.
Check whether the client is already connected
On Settings → Connect AI, look under Connected AI clients. If your client is listed with a Connected badge, the connection worked. The problem is on the AI client side (try removing and re-adding the connector there).
The AI created a bundle but I can’t see it on my store
That’s expected. Everything the AI creates is saved as a Draft. Open Bundles, review it, and use Set as active when you’re ready, or ask the AI to publish it (publishing is flagged as a step that needs your confirmation, so your AI client should check with you first).
Disconnect and reconnect
On Settings → Connect AI, click Disconnect next to the client. It loses access immediately. Then add the connection URL again from scratch in your AI client and re-approve it.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many bundles can I create?
You can create as many Draft bundles as you like. The number of Active bundles (live on your store) depends on your plan: 5 on Free, 50 on Starter, 100 on Growth and unlimited on Enterprise. Each plan also includes a number of bundle sales per billing period: 20 on Free, 200 on Starter, 500 on Growth, unlimited on Enterprise. When you reach your active-bundle limit you’ll see a Bundle limit reached banner and can’t activate more bundles until you upgrade. Your current usage is shown under Usage this period in Settings → Plans & billing.
Can I use different bundle types at the same time?
Yes! You can have Fixed, Multipack, Mix & Match, and FBT bundles all running at the same time. Each type serves a different purpose, and they don’t conflict with each other. Every plan includes all bundle types and all discount types.
Does xBundle slow down my store?
No. xBundle’s storefront widgets are lightweight and their scripts load after your page content, so they don’t block the page from rendering. The analytics tracking uses Shopify’s web pixel system, which runs in a secure sandbox and doesn’t affect page load speed.
Can I use xBundle with any Shopify theme?
xBundle works with all Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes that support app blocks on the product template. Most modern Shopify themes support this. If you’re using an older (vintage) theme, the app blocks may not be available.
What happens to my bundles if I uninstall xBundle?
Uninstalling removes xBundle’s widgets, discount and pixel from your store immediately, and disconnects any connected AI clients. xBundle doesn’t change your bundles’ status when you uninstall, but it also can’t change them afterwards, so set bundles to Draft (or archive/delete them) before uninstalling, so their bundle products don’t stay visible on your storefront without the app.
About 48 hours after you uninstall, Shopify instructs xBundle to permanently erase all of the app’s data for your store: bundles, discounts, settings, analytics and usage history. If you reinstall within that window, your bundles and settings are still there. xBundle re-creates its discount and pixel, and AI clients need to be reconnected. Shopify cancels your paid subscription when you uninstall, so you start again on the Free plan and need to choose your plan again under Settings → Plans & billing. After the erasure, nothing can be recovered, and you’ll start with an empty app.
Can customers use a discount code AND a bundle discount?
xBundle’s automatic discount is configured to combine with product, order and shipping discounts. Whether a specific discount code stacks with it depends on that code’s own Combinations settings in your Shopify admin (Discounts → the code). If a code is set not to combine with product or shipping discounts, Shopify decides which discount applies at checkout.
How does the AI know which products to recommend?
Automatic recommendations are based on product similarity computed from each product’s title, description, product type, and tags. Products with similar content are recommended together. Only active, in-stock products are considered, and products you’ve added under Excluded products in Settings → Recommend products at checkout are skipped. If similarity data isn’t available yet for the products in the cart, xBundle falls back to random in-stock products.
Can I customize how the bundle widget looks?
Yes. Each widget has its own settings in the Shopify theme editor. Open your product template and select the block:
- Discount Bundle (Fixed & Mix & Match discount cards): Card Color, Text Color, Card Size, Show Timer, which conditions to show, and every text label.
- Bundle Product Card (Mix & Match product picker): Add/Added button text, colors for cards, buttons and prices, and font sizes.
- Multipack: Accent Color, Card Background, Card Width (px), Card Layout, Show Popular Badges, countdown timer style and position, which rules to show, and all rule and inventory texts.
- FBT Bundle: Bundle Title, Bundle Subtitle, countdown timer format, position, style and colors, how discount rules are displayed, maximum width, and rule texts.
You can also drag the block to a different position on the product template. Beyond these settings, styling changes may require custom CSS from a theme developer.
Is my data secure?
Yes. xBundle follows Shopify’s security guidelines, and you never enter an AI API key into xBundle. If you use Connect AI, your store data is shared only with the AI client you personally approved. You approve each connection inside your own Shopify admin (the approval page shows where your data will be sent), a connection only works for the store that approved it, and you can revoke access at any time with Disconnect on the Connect AI tab. xBundle’s analytics pixel records only bundle views, add-to-carts, cart views and checkouts (no shopper identifiers), and the app stores no customer personal data.
Who do I contact for help?
Click the chat button in the bottom-right corner of any page in xBundle. It opens a Help & support panel with two tabs: How to use, with an Open full docs button to the full documentation, and Questions, a short form (Your name, Email, How can we help?). Click Send message and we’ll reply by email.
